A flash flood watch is in effect tonight through 1 p.m. Aug. 30 in Wyandotte County, according to the National Weather Service.
Thunderstorms with heavy rain were moving through Wyandotte County on Thursday night.
Low-lying and urban areas will be susceptible to flash flooding, according to the weather service. Residents should be very careful if driving at night, and should not try to cross roads that are flooded.
