First-degree murder charges were filed Jan. 1 against Ismael Caballero in the deaths of three persons in Kansas City, Kansas.
Three persons were found dead in a fire around 5 a.m. on Monday morning, Dec. 30, at 29 N. Mill St., Kansas City, Kansas. The victims, according to authorities, were Yazmin Rodriguez-Santilla, female, age 31; Amerikha Rodriguez, female, age 14; and Jean Carlo Rodriguez, male, age 10, police stated.
Police investigated the case as a homicide. A spokesman for the police department has stated it is believed to have originated from a previous dating relationship.
Three first-degree murder charges were filed by District Attorney Mark Dupree on Jan. 1 in the case.
In addition, two charges of arson were filed against Caballero. One arson charge concerns the house at 29 N. Mill St, and the other arson charge concerns a 2007 Dodge Caravan owned by Yazmin Rodriguez.
Caballero, 21, is in the Wyandotte County Jail. Bond has been set at $1 million, according to the district attorney’s office.
