Two fires were reported Thursday night.
Three firefighters were overcome by heat in a house fire at 11:08 p.m. Thursday at 946 Shawnee Ave. in Kansas City, Kan., according to authorities.
The fire spread to a nearby house at 948 Shawnee.
One firefighter was taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion and later released, according to fire officials.
A house fire was reported in the 2500 block of South 50th Street on Thursday, according to officials.
The fire was found in the kitchen, authorities said. All residents were safe.
