A fire was reported at a single-family home in the 300 block of South Boeke about 12:43 a.m. Dec. 18, according to a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department.
When fire crews arrived, they saw heavy smoke and fire coming from the side of the structure, the spokesman stated.
Crews attacked the fire after securing a water supply, and did a primary search, according to the spokesman.
Three attack lines were established to help extinguish the fire, and it was brought under control after about 30 minutes, the spokesman stated.
The Red Cross was called to assist one adult.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation, according to the spokesman.
Damage to the property was estimated at $65,000, according to the Fire Department.
There were no injuries or deaths.
