A fire was reported at 9:58 a.m. Wednesday morning at 1826 Shawnee Drive, Kansas City, Kansas.
When firefighters arrived, they saw light smoke showing from a side window of the single-family home. The fire was extinguished shortly after arrival, with no injuries, according to the Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department spokesman.
The Red Cross was called to assist two adults and four children.
The cause of the fire was accidental, according to the Fire Department. The estimated loss to the property was $20,000, and the loss to contents was $9,000, the Fire Department stated.
