A residential fire at 354 South Boeke St. has caused an estimated $27,500 in damage, according to the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department.
The fire investigator is looking into the cause of the fire, according to a Fire Department spokesman.
The spokesman said crews arrived at the fire within 4 minutes of the alarm at 12:31 p.m. Jan. 22.
They saw heavy smoke and fire coming from the one-story wood-framed building, the spokesman said.
A search of the building did not find any occupants at the time of the fire, according to the spokesman. The fire was extinguished in 30 minutes.
The loss to the $35,000 building was estimated at $25,000 and the content loss was estimated at $2,500, according to the Fire Department.
There were no working fire or smoke detectors at the building, the Fire Department report stated.
