Firefighters respond to fire on Catherine Avenue

The fire was reported to be in the attic, according to the report. There were no occupants in the building at the time, the report stated. An investigation is underway.

A fire was reported at 4:34 a.m. Sept. 29 at 4332 Martin St., according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department.
Heavy smoke and fire was showing when firefighters arrived, and the fire was fought defensively, according to the report. The roof of the building collapsed.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, the report stated.
