A Ladies Night and Wine Tasting Event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Cathedral of St. Peter parish center, 409 N. 15th St., Kansas City, Kan. Wine tasting tickets will be $5. There will be a silent auction to raise funds for the Altar Society
A pancake breakfast will be held by the Knights of Columbus from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Oct. 18 at Christ the King Church, Davern Hall, 3024 N. 53rd St. The event is a benefit for the school.
A wide variety of crafts will be available on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the annual Crafts Fair at Father Quinlan Hall, Holy Angels Parish, 154th and Leavenworth Road, Basehor, Kan. The event is open to the public and will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Twenty-five booths will feature items ranging from dried flower arrangements to woodworking and wreaths to jewelry and Christmas crafts. Refreshments will be available. This event is sponsored by the Catholic Women’s Organization of the parish and is planned to coincide with the annual Crafts Fair at Basehor High School. Risen Lamb International Church of the Nazarene, located in the Turner area of Kansas City, Kan., has announced the opening of the Risen Lamb Prayer Room and Retreat Center. On location at their church at 5301 Metropolitan Avenue, the prayer room and retreat center is open to the public for daytime retreats. All individuals or small groups seeking a quiet, sacred space to gather, pray, meditate, journal or read resources about prayer are welcome. The prayer room provides a peaceful space for solitude or can be scheduled in advance for groups of up to eight people. Guests seeking spiritual guidance may schedule a time of spiritual direction with one of the pastoral staff, and groups may inquire about scheduling a member of the pastoral team to lead or speak at a retreat.
