The Kansas City Kansas Community College Community Choir will hold its annual Winter Choral Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2203 Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kan. Admission is free, however donations will be accepted for vocal music student travel opportunities to St. Louis, Mo., Chicago, Ill. and Denver, Colo. in the spring. The concert is open to the public. The choir will perform selections from Handel’s Messiah with a professional string quartet. In addition, the KCKCC Chamber Choir will perform a cappella selections ranging from Early American Hymns, Baroque Church music, Russian Church music and African-American Spirituals.
The Cathedral of St. Peter, 409 N. 15th St., Kansas City, Kan. is sponsoring the fourth annual Nativity Display from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7. More than 100 unique nativities will be on display. Come and enjoy a magical experience that reflects the true meaning of Christmas. Admission is free. Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N. 53rd St., is planning a Christmas craft fair from Dec. 18-21.
“Scripture Study, Bible Sharing and Reflection, Lectio and Journaling,” a regular weekly series facilitated by pastoral minister, Heather Neds, is offered at Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan., from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays. This weekly Bible study group is based on the upcoming scripture readings from the Common Lectionary. There will be time for reflection, sharing and journaling. Call 913-906-8990 to register.
The Kansas City, Kan., Community Orchestra will hold its annual Holiday Concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at London Heights Baptist Church, 734 N. 78th St., Kansas City, Kan. The concert is free and open to the public.
Open Door Baptist Church, 3033 N. 103rd Terrace, will have a musical presentation, “Born is the King! It’s Christmas,” at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 14.

Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St., is planning “The Sweet Memories of Christmas Program and Tasting Party” at 6 p.m. Dec. 14. There will be songs, readings, musical numbers or other performances.
Various activities are planned Sunday, Dec. 7 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1300 N. 18th St. The second Sunday in Advent will be observed at the 10 a.m. service. The church will be a stop on the Historic Westheight Holiday Tour from 1 until 5 p.m. There will be a program of lesson and carols at 5 p.m.
Trinity Community Church, 5010 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kan., will hold a Christmas concert, “Repeat the Joy!” at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21. Favorite Christmas songs and carols will be performed, in a variety of musical styles.
