A farewell celebration for the Rev. Mark Mertes, pastor, and the Rev. John Reynolds, priest in residence, will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 30, at Blessed Sacrament Family Center gym and cafeteria, 2203 Parallel, Kansas City, Kansas.

Members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1300 N. 18th St., Kansas City, Kansas, will observe the fourth Sunday after Pentecost at 10 a.m. July 7.

Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th, Kansas City, Kansas, will hold a Patriotic Picnic from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 30, at the church park area. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Those attending should bring a meat and side dish or dessert for their families, with extra for guests. They also should bring lawn chairs or blankets. Stony Point will hold a Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to noon July 11 and 12 for children in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.
