Christ the King eighth-graders will hold the annual taco bingo fundraiser from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at 3024 N. 53rd St. The dinner menu is two tacos, rice, beans, drink and dessert.

Dropoff sites are open for Operation Christmas Child boxes, which are Christmas donations for children. In this area, Christmas shoeboxes with toys, school supplies and personal hygiene items for children may be donated at: Haven Baptist Church, 3430 Hutton Road, from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19; and at Fellowship West Church, 303 S. Bluegrass Drive, Bonner Springs, from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19. Breakfast with St. Nicholas is planned from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Dec. 15 at Holy Family parish, 513 Ohio Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. The event is sponsored by Resurrection School. The cost is $6 per person. The breakfast of pancakes and sausage will be catered by Chris Cakes.

The Gospel Non-Violence Study Group will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. The group is facilitated by Peg Burns Kerbawy.
Scripture Study and Reflection group will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays at the Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. The group is facilitated by Heather Neds.
An Advent Retreat, “Unwrapping the Gift of Presence” will be presented from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. A light supper will be provided. The program will be presented by Kathy Keary. The program will explore the effect that meditation and contemplation can have in heightening a felt sense of God’s presence, enhancing relationships with others and fostering a contemplative stance to life.

Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St., plans an all-church Thanksgiving dinner at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, in the Cole Activity Center. Meat, bread and drinks will be furnished, and those attending will bring a side dish, salad or dessert.

Members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1300 N. 18th St., Kansas City, Kansas, will observe the last Sunday in the season of Pentecost at 10 a.m. Nov. 25.
