Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church
Knights of Columbus will hold a breakfast fundraiser after the 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Masses on Sunday, Oct. 23, at the parish, 22nd and Parallel Avenue, Kansas City, Kan. There will be scrambled eggs with chorizo, fried potatoes, tortilla and fruit cocktail. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for those 10 and under.

First Christian Church of Bonner Springs, 148 N. Nettleton, is planning a garage sale during Autumnfest from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29.

Grinter Chapel United Methodist Church, 7819 Swartz Road, Kansas City, Kan., will hold a chili supper fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. Included will be all-you-can-eat chili or vegetable soup or hot dogs. The charge is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger. The drink is included. There is a also a Trunk and Treat planned from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 29 at the church.

Judson Baptist Church

A Gospel Non-Violence Study Group will meet from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at the Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan. Dayton Moore will be the guest speaker at the Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the Reardon Center, 5th and Minnesota Avenue, Kansas City, Kan. Moore is the general manager for the Kansas City Royals. Tickets are $22 each. Registration is required. It is an interdenominational event. Open Door Baptist Church, 3033 N. 103rd Terrace, Kansas City, Kan., is participating in the Operation Christmas Child project. Church members are filling shoeboxes with Christmas gifts for needy girls and boys. The shoeboxes are being collected at the church before noon Nov. 6 and 12.

Risen Lamb International Church of the Nazarene, located in the Turner area of Kansas City, Kan., has announced the opening of the Risen Lamb Prayer Room and Retreat Center. On location at their church at 5301 Metropolitan Avenue, the prayer room and retreat center is open to the public for daytime retreats. All individuals or small groups seeking a quiet, sacred space to gather, pray, meditate, journal or read resources about prayer are welcome. The prayer room provides a peaceful space for solitude or can be scheduled in advance for groups of up to eight people. Guests seeking spiritual guidance may schedule a time of spiritual direction with one of the pastoral staff, and groups may inquire about scheduling a member of the pastoral team to lead or speak at a retreat. Members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1300 N. 18th St., Kansas City, Kan., will attend the 157th annual convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28 and 29, at the Hilton Double Tree at the Airport in Wichita. Members from the Episcopal Diocese of Western Kansas will also attend the convention.
