Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N. 53rd St., Kansas City, Kan., will have a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Knights of Columbus on Sunday, Oct. 16. Proceeds will benefit the projects of the Knights of Columbus. The Mass is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Fellowship Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) at 8844 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., is sponsoring a Coat Drive (free coats) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22. Come “shop” in a store-like atmosphere. Light refreshments will be served and each person receiving a coat will be given a gift bag of goodies upon their departure.

Judson Baptist Church, 8300 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., will hold Sunday morning services at 11 a.m. on the first Sunday of the month, and at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on the other Sundays, and Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. The church website is http://judsonbaptistchurchkck.com/.

Dayton Moore will be the guest speaker at the Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the Reardon Center, 5th and Minnesota Avenue, Kansas City, Kan. Moore is the general manager for the Kansas City Royals. Tickets are $22 each. Registration is required. It is an interdenominational event. Open Door Baptist Church, 3033 N. 103rd Terrace, Kansas City, Kan., is participating in the Operation Christmas Child project. Church members are filling shoeboxes with Christmas gifts for needy girls and boys. The shoeboxes are being collected at the church before noon Nov. 6 and 12.

Risen Lamb International Church of the Nazarene, located in the Turner area of Kansas City, Kan., has announced the opening of the Risen Lamb Prayer Room and Retreat Center. On location at their church at 5301 Metropolitan Avenue, the prayer room and retreat center is open to the public for daytime retreats. All individuals or small groups seeking a quiet, sacred space to gather, pray, meditate, journal or read resources about prayer are welcome. The prayer room provides a peaceful space for solitude or can be scheduled in advance for groups of up to eight people. Guests seeking spiritual guidance may schedule a time of spiritual direction with one of the pastoral staff, and groups may inquire about scheduling a member of the pastoral team to lead or speak at a retreat. Stony Point Christian Church,
149 S. 78th St., will hear from church-supported missionaries to Indonesia at the 11 a.m. worship service Oct. 16, followed by an all-church potluck dinner at 12:15 p.m.

An Oktoberfest is planned at 4 p.m. Oct. 15 at St. Mary-St. Anthony Catholic Church, 615 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kan. The event includes a traditional Oktoberfest dinner. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.

An Oktoberfest dinner and dance is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at St. Anthony Catholic Church basement, 615 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kan. There will be dinner and dancing. The Willie Kirst Band will play. The admission cost is $20 for adults, $10 for children 12-20 years old; and $5 for children ages 6-11. Admission is free for children under 5.

The Men’s Club at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 94th and State Avenue, will sponsor a steak dinner and bingo at 6 p.m. Oct. 22 at the parish center, 1086 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kan. Tickets are $20, and reservations are required to 913-515-0621.

Members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1300 N. 18th St., Kansas City, Kan., will attend a progressive dinner Friday, Oct. 21. Appetizers will be served at a member’s house at 6:30 p.m. followed by the main course at 7:30 p.m. at the church. Dessert will be served at another member’s house at 8:45 p.m. Funds raised will help with parish outreach projects.
