Christ the King Catholic Church, 53rd and Leavenworth Road, Kansas City, Kan., is planning its annual ice cream social on Saturday, Aug. 27, after the 4 p.m. Mass.

Grace Tabernacle Family Life Outreach Center, 1928 N. 47th St., will hold a Women’s Conference through Sunday. The conference is titled “Women Bridging the Gap and Adding to the Kingdom.” It will be held at 7 p.m. June 23 and 24 and at 4 p.m. June 26 at Grace Tabernacle. Pastor Regina Stillman, New Revelations Deliverance Ministries Inc., will speak on June 23; Evangelist Missionary Frazier of River of Life Church of God in Christ will speak June 24, and Lady Sandra Lassiter of Faith Temple Church will speak June 26. At 7 p.m. Friday, June 24, there will be a special chat with State Supervisor Emeritus Mother Alberta Davis, Mother Legusta Vaughn and Mother Geraldine Jenkins. Judson Baptist Church, 8300 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., holds Sunday morning services at 11 a.m. on the first Sunday of the month, and at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on the other Sundays, and Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. The church plans Vacation Bible School from 6:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. July 18-22. Open Door Baptist Church, 3033 N. 103rd Terrace, Kansas City, Kan., plans Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 11-15 for children in kindergarten to sixth grade. Risen Lamb International Church of the Nazarene, located in the Turner area of Kansas City, Kan., has announced the opening of the Risen Lamb Prayer Room and Retreat Center. On location at their church at 5301 Metropolitan Avenue, the prayer room and retreat center is open to the public for daytime retreats. All individuals or small groups seeking a quiet, sacred space to gather, pray, meditate, journal or read resources about prayer are welcome. The prayer room provides a peaceful space for solitude or can be scheduled in advance for groups of up to eight people. Guests seeking spiritual guidance may schedule a time of spiritual direction with one of the pastoral staff, and groups may inquire about scheduling a member of the pastoral team to lead or speak at a retreat. The Rev. Don Compier, the dean of the Bishop Kemper School for Ministry, will be the guest clergyman at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 3, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1300 N. 18th St., Kansas City Kan. The parish will sponsor “Shakespeare Unbound,” an educational program for girls ages 8 through 18 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Friday July 11 through July 29. The workshop will include acting exercises, dance training, visual arts projects and creative writing components.
