A spaghetti sauce contest will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Davern Hall, 53rd and Leavenworth Road, Kansas City, Kan. Those attending, at a cost at the door of $7.50 for adults and $5.50 for ages 7 to 12, will receive endless spaghetti and sauce tasting, bread, salad, tea, lemonade, one dessert and one opportunity to vote on the contest winner. Entries must register by April 13. Funds raised will go toward expenses for the annual ice cream social. Christ the King Church will hold a Community Blood Center blood drive from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, April 25, in the church basement. Judson Baptist Church, 8300 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., will resume its regular Sunday morning schedule in April, including Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. on the first Sunday of the month; and for the remaining Sundays, 8:30 a.m., first morning service, 9:45 a.m., Sunday school, and 11 a.m., second Sunday service.

The Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan., will hold a Scripture Group and Bible study from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays. Bible sharing and reflection, lectio and journaling will be led by Heather Neds, pastoral minister.

Risen Lamb International Church of the Nazarene,
located in the Turner area of Kansas City, Kan., has announced the opening of the Risen Lamb Prayer Room and Retreat Center. On location at their church at 5301 Metropolitan Avenue, the prayer room and retreat center is open to the public for daytime retreats. All individuals or small groups seeking a quiet, sacred space to gather, pray, meditate, journal or read resources about prayer are welcome. The prayer room provides a peaceful space for solitude or can be scheduled in advance for groups of up to eight people. Guests seeking spiritual guidance may schedule a time of spiritual direction with one of the pastoral staff, and groups may inquire about scheduling a member of the pastoral team to lead or speak at a retreat. Sanctuary of Hope, 2601 Ridge Ave., Kansas City, Kan., will hold a three-mile walk to pray for an end to violence from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 17. The walk starts at Sanctuary of Hope and ends at the Shalom House, 13th and Parallel, and prayers will be held with the residents of Shalom House. There will be transportation back to Sanctuary of Hope.
Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St., will hold a ladies luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at the church’s coffee shop. After lunch, those attending will play games such as Scrabble or dominoes.

Women from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1300 N. 18th St., Kansas City, Kan., will attend the “2016 Women’s Summit” at St.Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, Mission, Friday and Saturday, April 22 and 23.

Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland Ave., is planning an all-church breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 23, served by the church trustees. A free will donation will be accepted. A trustees meeting will be at 9 a.m.
