The National Weather Service has lifted the excessive heat warning for the rest of today.
Rain fell this morning in Douglas and Jefferson counties, and the area is now expected to have a high today of 94, with heat index values as high as 100, the weather service said. It did not rain in Wyandotte County, as the storm was to the south.
There is still a 30 percent chance of rain in the region before 2 p.m., according to the weather service.
Wyandotte County remains under a heat advisory until 8 p.m. Friday, the weather service said.
The temperature was 86 degrees at noon today in Wyandotte County, with a heat index of 88, according to the weather service.
