There will be a slightly enhanced fire danger this afternoon because of warm, breezy conditions, according to the National Weather Service.
The first round of storms will begin this evening; best severe potential is mainly to the west but a few strong storms are possible, according to the weather service.
On-and-off thunderstorms are expected Wednesday night through Thursday; a few strong storms are possible, the weather service said.
At 9 a.m. Tuesday, radar showed some storms in the Manhattan, Kan., area, moving to the northwest.
There is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms today, mainly after 4 p.m., according to the weather service. The high will be near 79. A light south southeast wind will increase to 10 to 15 mph in the morning, and winds may gust as high as 29 mph, according to the weather service.
Tonight, there is an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 3 a.m., the weather service said. The low will be around 59. A south southeast wind of 6 to 10 mph will gust as high as 22 mph. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.
Wednesday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 80, according to the weather service. A south southeast wind of 5 to 8 mph is possible.
Wednesday night, expect a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 a.m., the weather service said. The low will be around 65. A southeast wind will be around 7 mph. Between a half and three-quarters of an inch of rain is possible.
Thursday, there is an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 80, according to the weather service. A south wind will be 6 to 13 mph. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain are possible.
Thursday night, there is a 90 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, the weather service said. The low will be around 52. New rainfall amounts will be between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Friday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers before 1 p.m., according to the weather service. The high will be near 60.
Friday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 42, according to the weather service.
Saturday, it will be sunny with a high near 65, the weather service said.
