Elections not rigged in Kansas, governor says

Gov. Sam Brownback today said elections in Kansas are not rigged.

He was asked to respond to a recent statement by candidate Donald Trump that elections were rigged.

“I think Kansas has free and fair elections,” Gov. Brownback said. “I’m sure there are problems in some places, but I’ve been on the ballot many times in the state of Kansas, and I think we have excellent election staff at the local and state level.

“I think they do an outstanding job, I think they’re very conscientious about it,” he said.

While there may be some problems in places, Gov. Brownback said overall Kansas has fair elections.

Gov. Brownback made the comment following a program to celebrate reading at the Boys and Girls Club in Kansas City, Kan.

  1. In Wyandotte County, you don’t need to think they are fair. They are!
