Firefighters fought a fire on one side of a duplex in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 6813 Everett Ave. in Kansas City, Kansas.
According to a Fire Department spokesman, one side of the duplex is a total loss, and the fire was in the basement, first floor and attic.
When firefighters arrived, the fire already was through the roof, the spokesman stated. Crews deployed two lines through the front door.
At this time, the cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the spokesman. There were no injuries, and the resident was not home at the time of the fire, according to the spokesman.
The owner of the home, who lives on the same street, said the tenants were in the process of moving.
