Driver injured in wrong-way I-70 accident

A 34-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man was injured after driving the wrong way on a ramp at 78th Street and I-70, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report.

The man drove a Chevrolet Impala the wrong way on a ramp, striking a Chevrolet Sonic on its side and a Nissan Rogue head-on, according to the trooper’s report.

The accident happened at 4:03 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, the trooper’s report stated.

The driver of the Impala was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Chevrolet Sonic, a 64-year-old Shawnee, Kan., man, was not injured, the report stated.

The driver of the Rogue, a 44-year-old woman from Shawnee, Kan., had a possible injury, according to the trooper’s report.
