Driver injured in I-70 accident

An accident on westbound I-70 at 18th Street in Kansas City, Kan., sent one driver to the hospital this morning.

The accident happened at 8 a.m. Oct. 20 when two vehicles slowed for traffic. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, a Chevy HHR station wagon was westbound on I-70 when it struck the rear of a Toyota Corolla. The Corolla then struck the rear of a Mack truck pulling a trailer, the report said.

The driver of the HHR, a 25-year-old woman from Raytown, Mo., was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the report.

The driver of the Corolla, an 18-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman, was not injured, the report stated.

The driver of the Mack truck, a 52-year-old man from Shawnee, Kan., was not injured, according to the report.
