Driver injured after reportedly racing on I-35

A 27-year-old woman from Raytown, Mo., woman was injured in a crash after racing on I-35 in Kanssas City, Kan., according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

She was northbound on I-35, driving a Hyundai Elantra, about 11:14 p.m. Sunday, April 17, and was reportedly driving erratically and racing another car, the trooper’s report stated.

At I-35 and 18th Street in Kansas City, Kan., the Hyundai drove onto the left shoulder, struck the barrier wall, went airborne and landed on its top, the trooper’s report stated. The driver was ejected, according to the trooper’s report.

The trooper’s report stated the driver of the Hyundai was taken to a hospital. She was not wearing a safety restraint.

  1. I was on 1-35 south bound in order to pick my car at a rental place on Johnson drive. On the way back I was in the northbound lane and saw all these police cars. The car was upside down. I can’t believe that anyone could survive such a crash.
