Drive-by shooting results in minor injuries to two persons

A drive-by shooting was reported at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, in the 1700 block of Meadowlark Court in Kansas City, Kansas, according to police.

Two of the persons inside the residence were struck by gunfire, a Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman stated.

A second residence nearby also was struck by gunfire, but no one inside was hit, the spokesman stated. All occupants of both addresses were in fear for their lives from the gunfire.

The gunfire also damaged the buildings and a vehicle owned by one of the victims, according to the spokesman.

The two victims had non-life-threatening injuries, the spokesman stated.

The shooting is under investigation, and no one is in custody at this time, according to police. The victims did not want to talk to police at the time of the incident. The TIPS hotline number is 1-800-474-TIPS.
