A chase involving Kansas City, Kansas, police ended in a fatal crash near 94th and Parallel Parkway on Monday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol, which is investigating the fatal crash, stated in a trooper’s crash report that a Lexus ES was fleeing from law enforcement officers northbound on 94th Street when it tried to make a right turn onto Parallel Parkway. A Ford F150 truck was westbound on Parallel Parkway when it struck the Lexus, according to the trooper’s report. The crash happened around 3:47 p.m. Monday.
Two persons in the Lexus died in the crash. They were Jason Edwards, 27, of Kansas City, Mo., and Amber Bledsoe, 23, of Prairie Village, Kan.
The driver, a 20-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, was injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated.
The driver and Edwards were not wearing seat belts, according to the report. Bledsoe was wearing a seat belt.
A 55-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man driving the F150 truck had a possible injury and was taken to the hospital, the report stated.
