Dense fog advisory, temperatures in high 60s today

A dense fog advisory in effect until 9 a.m. made driving in some areas a little slower this morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Motorists were advised to use caution, slow down and use headlights, as visibility was less than a quarter of a mile in some places, the weather service said.

The Missouri River near Wyandotte County is declining today, and the river has dropped below flood stage above the Parkville location as well as at other gauges in Kansas City. That location is on I-435 between Wyandotte County and Missouri.

After the fog lifts, Wyandotte County will see temperatures rise later today to a high of 68, according to the weather service.

The skies will gradually become mostly sunny today, the weather service said, and there will be a south wind of 3 to 6 mph.

Tonight, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 51 and a southeast wind of 8 mph, according to the weather service.

Saturday, there is a 20 percent chance of showers after 1 p.m., with a high near 73, the weather service said. A south southeast wind of 7 to 13 mph will gust as high as 20 mph.

Saturday night, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 56, according to the weather service, and a south southeast wind of 7 to 10 mph. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.

Sunday, there is a 50 percent chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 10 a.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 70 with a south wind of 7 to 9 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.

Sunday night, there is a 10 percent chance of thunderstorms before 7 p.m., with a low of 49, according to the weather service.

Monday, it will be sunny with a high near 72, the weather service said.

Monday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 51, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 72, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 55, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 71, the weather service said.

Wednesday night, there is a 40 percent chance of showers, with a low of 44, according to the weather service.

Thursday, it will be mostly cloudy, with a high of 54, the weather service said.
