Update: The dense fog advisory was extended until noon Monday.
A dense fog advisory has been issued for Wyandotte County and surrounding counties from 1 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, through 8 a.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
Visibility is expected to be one-quarter mile or less in dense freezing fog, the weather service said.
There may be hazardous driving conditions because of low visibility, along with slick roads and walking surfaces due to freezing fog, according to the weather service.
Drivers should slow down, use their headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of them, the weather service said.
The overnight low will be 24 degrees, with temperatures about 27 degrees at 9 a.m. Monday. Monday’s high will be in the 40s.
