The demolition of the Platte Purchase Bridge scheduled today has been delayed, according to an announcement from the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Because of too much ice in the Missouri River, the temporary closure of the U.S. 69 Missouri River Bridge and detonation of the Platte Purchase Bridge has been delayed, a spokesman said.
Crews originally planned to close all northbound and southbound lanes of the new U.S. 69 Missouri River Bridge from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, for bridge demolition work.
The spokesman said the bridge demolition will be rescheduled and the date will be announced later. All work is weather-dependent, the spokesman said.
