The Kansas Delaware Tribe’s annual meeting will take place on Saturday, June 1, at the George Meyn building at Wyandotte County Park, 126th and State Avenue, Bonner Springs.
A day of activities is planned about the Delaware culture and heritage.
A smoking ceremony will be held at 9 a.m., followed by cultural activities including drumming, finding ancestral roots with the original 26 Delaware members who stayed in Kansas rather than being removed to Indian Territory, recognizing tribal elder and tribal veteran, and studying the cultural meanings of dances and events.
