The Wyandotte County District Attorney will not move forward with the Christopher Lewis case at this time, according to an announcement today.
Lewis had been charged with first-degree murder in the 2015 drive-by shooting deaths of Antonio Rucker and DeRon Rucker on Quindaro Boulevard. The district attorney’s spokesman said the case was tried in 2016 and resulted in a hung jury. Lewis will be released.
An investigation is ongoing in the case, and charges could be refiled if the ongoing investigation yields additional information that supports a conviction, the district attorney’s spokesman said.
Anyone with further information about the case is asked to contact the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
