Patchy dense fog this morning reduced visibility in some areas of the region, making travel potentially hazardous, according to the National Weather Service.
Residents also are seeing frost on the ground this morning.
Snow will continue to look possible for Wednesday with areas south of a St. Joseph, Mo., to Moberly, Mo., line, receiving 1 to 2 inches with lesser amounts to the north of that line, the weather service said.
The first blast of cold air will affect the area Wednesday through Friday with highs in the 20s and lows in the single digits and teens, according to the weather service.
Today’s high will be near 51 with mostly sunny skies, the weather service said. A light south wind will increase to 6 to 11 mph in the morning.
Tonight, the low will be around 30 with mostly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.
Tuesday, expect sunny skies and a high of 39, the weather service said. A northwest wind will be 6 to 11 mph.
Tuesday night, it will be increasingly cloudy with a low of 23, according to the weather service. The north wind will be around 6 mph.
Wednesday, there is a 40 percent chance of snow, with a high near 28, the weather service said. The north wind will be 6 to 10 mph.
Wednesday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 13, according to the weather service.
Thursday, it will be sunny with a high of 21, the weather service said. Thursday night, expect mostly clear skies and a low of 10.
Friday, the high will be near 27 with mostly sunny skies, according to the weather service. Friday night’s low will be around 21.
Saturday, expect a high of 38 with partly sunny skies, the weather service said. Saturday night’s low will be around 27.
Sunday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 41, according to the weather service.
