Cool and rainy days ahead

Cool and rainy weather is expected Monday through Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Today, isolated thunderstorms are possible; however, any severe weather is not expected, the weather service said.

Area-wide rainfall amounts between 1 to 3 inches will be possible over the three days, according to the weather service. Flooding is not expected because of recent dry conditions.

There is a chance of showers before 3 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., then showers likely, with possibly a thunderstorm after 5 p.m., according to the forecast.

Today’s high will be near 57, with a south wind around 14 mph and gusts as high as 20 mph, the weather service said. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected today.

Tonight, there will be periods of showers and possibly a thunderstorm, according to the weather service. The low will be around 56.

A southeast wind of 13 to 15 mph will have gusts as high as 22 mph tonight. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent, the weather service said. New rainfall amounts between three-quarters and one inch are possible.

Tuesday, expect showers and possibly a thunderstorm before noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon, the weather service said. The high will be near 65, and there will be a south wind from 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent, according to the weather service. Between a quarter and a half-inch of rain is possible.

Tuesday night, the low will be around 43 with a south wind of about 10 mph.

Wednesday, it will be cloudy, and gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 56, the weather service said. A west southwest wind will be 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday night, the low will be around 36, with mostly clear skies, according to the weather service.

Thursday, expect sunny skies with a high near 52, the weather service said. Thursday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of around 32.

Friday’s high will be near 52, with partly sunny skies, the weather service said. Friday night, expect a low of around 32 with mostly cloudy skies.

Saturday, there is a 40 percent chance of rain and snow, according to the weather service. It will be mostly cloudy with a high near 42.

Saturday night, there will be a low of 26 with mostly cloudy skies, the weather service said.

Sunday’s high will be near 42 with partly sunny skies, according to the weather service.
