There was a prayer vigil for Machole J. Stewart at Forest Grove Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kan.

Machole, 10 years old, was shot down by a drive-by shooter on Sunday evening as she was inside a home near the 1400 block of New Jersey. People from all over the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area came to the prayer vigil Tuesday night to support her family.

“We need your help. We need to find the killer of Machole. This definitely has to stop but we really need your help to find the killer of Machole so justice can be done. If you know who it is call the TIPS Hotline,” said Kansas City, Kan., Police Chief Ellen Hanson.

“We know who you are and we will find you. We won’t stand for it. You should come forward right now and give yourself up,” said Nae Oliver with the Ad Hoc Group Against Crime, a group dedicated to reducing crime in the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area.

Also at the prayer vigil was Charity Guinn, who lost her 6-year-old daughter in a recent drive-by shooting in Kansas City, Mo. She was there to give support to Machole’s mother.

“This has got to stop, we cannot allow this to happen. They are killing our babies,” Charity Guinn said.

After the prayer vigil, balloons were released in honor of Machole. People held candles in memory of Machole, praying that the person who shot her is brought to justice immediately.

People who have information about anyone who is involved in this crime may call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477 or call the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department at 913-573-6000. A reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest in this case.
