Community meetings are planned on Tuesday, Dec. 5, on the northeast area master plan in Kansas City, Kansas.
Two identical sessions, one in the afternoon and one in the evening, are scheduled.
The first meeting will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 5 at Neff Packaging, 555 Sunshine Road, Kansas City, Kansas.
The second meeting will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 5 at Grant Elementary School, 1510 N. 4th St., Kansas City, Kansas.
The planning process started in October with a community meeting. At the Dec. 5 meeting, there are plans to discuss initial findings, build on what was discussed, craft a vision for the northeast area and work on early action project ideas, according to a spokesman.
According to a spokesman, the northeast area master plan will define and illustrate a vision for the future of the northeast area. Such qualities as desirability, walkability, safety and economic well-being will be discussed.
The plan will identify opportunities relating to housing, transportation, education, workforce development, safety, health and supportive social services, according to a spokesman.
Residents and those working in the area are asked to participate in the planning process.
The planning process will contain both early action projects and long-term strategies, according to a spokesman.
