Beginning in February, AARP will provide free tax preparation services from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays at the Bonner Springs City Library, 201 N. Nettleton Ave., Bonner Springs, Kansas. The program continues every Tuesday from Tuesday, Feb. 19, through Tuesday, April 9. Volunteer tax preparers will be at the Bonner Springs Library from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This location will be a walk-in site and people do not have to sign up in advance. Opening day at lake to be March 2
The opening day at Wyandotte County Lake is scheduled for Saturday, March 2. In conjunction with the lake opening, the Leavenworth Road Association will sponsor a biscuits and sausage gravy breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. March 2 at the Davis Hall. The cost of the breakfast will be $10 for adults and a smaller portion at half-price for children 12 and younger. Breakfast includes two biscuits, sausage gravy, two sausage patties, coffee, milk or orange juice. The breakfast is a fundraiser for the Leavenworth Road Association.

Two legislative coffees set for Saturday, March 30
The League of Women Voters, the Kansas City, Kansas, Public Library and the Bonner Springs City Library will hold legislative coffees on Saturday, March 30. One coffee will begin at 10:30 a.m. March 30 at the Main Kansas City, Kansas, Public Library, 625 Minnesota Ave. A second coffee will be held at 1:30 p.m. March 30 at the Bonner Springs City Library, 201 N. The WyCo Ethnic Festival will be Saturday, April 13, at the Kansas City Kansas Community College field house, 7250 State Ave., Kansas City, Kansas.
