Program to include reflections on papal book

Workshop offered to strengthen child-adult relationships
A C.A.R.E. workshop (Child-Adult Relationship Enrichment) will be offered from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 6 and 20, at the Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. The workshop will provide assistance for relationships with children who have had trauma or stress in their lives. Bomber history project to be topic of meeting Feb. 8

Heart health to be discussed at Women’s Chamber meeting Feb. 14
Heart health will be the theme of the Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, meeting of the Kansas City, Kansas, Women’s Chamber of Commerce. The meeting will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the Keenan Education Center, Auditorium C, at Providence Medical Center, 8929 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas. It is scheduled in conjunction with American Heart Month during February. The guest speaker will be Dr. Venkat R. Pasnoori, who will speak on peripheral artery disease. Providence Medical staff will be on hand after the program to conduct a simple, free peripheral artery disease screen for anyone interested. Also scheduled to be in attendance at the program will be Dr. Mistee Allen, a family medicine physician with Providence Medical Group. The 57th annual Greater Kansas City Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at the Kansas City Downtown Convention Center Ballroom, 301 W. 13th St., Kansas City, Mo. The guest speaker at the breakfast will be Lamar Hunt Jr., owner of the Kansas City Mavericks hockey team. The breakfast is co-sponsored by more than 30 area mayors. This year the breakfast will benefit the nonprofit Sheffield Place of Kansas City, which helps homeless mothers and their children become more self-sufficient.
