Waterfowl Classic event planned Aug. 13
Cabela’s in Kansas City, Kansas, will offer waterfowl hunting enthusiasts and those wanting to learn more about the sport a weekend of activities, seminars and appearances during its Waterfowl Classic event, Aug. 12-13. In addition to many Waterfowl events taking place over the weekend, Cabela’s will also host DockDogs, which are flying and jumping dogs that may entertain families. There is no admission. The Board of Public Utilities will meet for a work session at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the board offices, 540 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. Job fair planned Aug. 22
A job fair is planned from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at the Kansas City Kansas Community College Burke Technical Center, 6565 State Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. The job fair was announced by U.S. Rep. Kevin Yoder, R-3rd Dist. The first hour of the job fair, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., is only for veterans. The rest of the job fair, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., is open to the public.
