With a little less than one year remaining until the 2016 presidential election, Democrat Hillary Clinton is leading all presidential candidates in contributions from Wyandotte County, according to Federal Election Commission statistics.
Clinton received $11,788 in contributions from Wyandotte County, FEC figures showed. The general election will be Nov. 8, 2016.
Donald Trump, a Republican presidential candidate who is reportedly a billionaire, received $913 from one resident, Danny Boyle of Kansas City, Kan., according to the FEC.
One Democrat receiving a substantial amount from Wyandotte County contributors was Bernie Sanders, with $3,357 in contributions, FEC figures showed.
Other presidential candidates who received contributions from Wyandotte County residents included Ben Carson, a Republican, $775; Ted Cruz, a Republican, $296; and Rick Santorum, a Republican, $100, according to the FEC.
While Jeb Bush is leading the nation’s Republican candidates in contributions, he did not receive any money from Wyandotte County residents, according to the FEC statistics.
Clinton’s contributors from the Zip Codes in Wyandotte County, all from Kansas City, Kan., included:
Lynne Butler, $300; Kevin Curtiss, $25 and $250; Linda Lockwood, $50, $50 and $25; Mollie Moravac, $2,700; Ramon Murguia, $2,700; and Nathan Wash, $5, $5, $5, $25, $19, $5, $10, $10, $142, $10, $10.
Carson’s contributors from Wyandotte County, all from Kansas City, Kan., included:
John P. Burke, $200; Stephen Kitchens, $25, $25, $50, $50; John F. Kreiser, $100, $50, $25, $100; Josef Meditz, $50, $50, $50.
Sanders’ contributors from Wyandotte County, all from Kansas City, Kan., included:
Judith Ancel, $500, $100; Don Bender, $65, $50; Joshua Freeman, $250; Tinesia Hill, $179 and $214 contributed, and $90 refunded; Dale Kindred, $10, $35, $25, $20; Don Reimers, $1,500; Gregory Smith, $500.
Cruz’ contributors from Wyandotte County, all from Kansas City, Kan., included:
Gayle Brown, $20; David Detlefson, $35, $25, $31, $25, $35; Phyllis Dugger, $25; and Josef Meditz, $50 and $50.
Rick Santorum received $100 from Clyde Blair of Kansas City, Kan., according to the FEC.
Listed as receiving no contributions from Wyandotte County were Martin O’Malley, a Democrat; and Republicans Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Carly Fiorina, Rand Paul, Scott Walker, Mike Huckabee, Chris Christie, John Kasich and Lindsey Graham.
