More than 150 backpacks were distributed to children today at the Kansas National Guard Armory, 18th and Ridge, Kansas City, Kansas. The event was sponsored by La Fe En Jesus Cristo, a church at 1500 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. All the supplies were donated by companies throughout the Greater Kansas City area. School supplies and backpacks were passed out today to 172 students by Shawnee Community Services at 67th and Nieman in Shawnee, Kansas to Wyandotte, Johnson and Leavenworth county students. The supplies were donated by individuals in the Shawnee community.
