Kansas City, Kansas, police officers today found a child’s body after 5:30 p.m. in a wooded area in the 3400 block of Steele Road.
Police believe the body is that of missing 3-year-old Olivia Jansen of Kansas City, Kansas, a spokesman stated.
Olivia’s father walked into police headquarters at 700 Minnesota Ave. at 8:30 a.m. Friday to report the toddler missing from their home in the 4400 block of Gibbs Road, according to the police spokesman.
Several agencies assisted with a search throughout the day and issued an Amber Alert, which has now been canceled, police stated.
The case remains under investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone with information is asked to call the Police Department at 913-596-3000 or the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
