Some of the greatest players in Kansas City Chiefs history brought great joy to patients at The University of Kansas Hospital on Wednesday.
Led by NFL Hall of Famers Bobby Bell and Jan Stenerud, the group included Deron Cherry, Bill Maas, Shawn Barber, Ken Kremer and several others who visited pediatric and adult patients at the hospital.
The Chiefs alumni are part of the group called Chiefs Ambassadors, who work on ways on continuing serving the community after their playing days are over.
The players visited the hospitalized children while sharing memories with many of their patients.
In 2012, the Chiefs and The University of Kansas Hospital began a partnership designed to provide best-in-class, comprehensive healthcare for the Chiefs organization, Chiefs fans and the greater Kansas City region, positively impacting athletes of all ages in the Kansas City community. The partnership has helped the Chiefs and The University of Kansas Hospital become a leader in comprehensive healthcare in the National Football League. Since 2012, the Chiefs have participated in 20 outreach initiatives or visits in conjunction with The University of Kansas Hospital.
