A chase on Sunday evening ended with a person hitting a Kansas Highway Patrol car, and then two persons were taken into custody.
The Kansas Highway Patrol was pursuing a person for speeding and not stopping for a Lenexa police car, said Lt. K.L. Woods, a highway patrol supervisor.
A trooper tried to pull over the vehicle at I-35 near I-635 about 4:45 p.m. Sunday when the vehicle went north of I-635, and exited through residential areas of Kansas City, Kan., Lt. Woods said.
The suspect hit a highway patrol car and he also hit a parked car while he was fleeing, Lt. Woods said. No one was injured, he said. Two persons were taken into custody about 4:58 p.m., he said.
The suspects had multiple outstanding warrants and Kansas City, Kan., police responded to the area to assist in the effort, he said.
Kansas City, Kan., police became involved around 4:27 p.m. in a foot pursuit of the hit-and-run suspect, who was taken into custody shortly after the incident came to an end near the 2000 block of South 47th Circle, a KCK police spokesman stated.
