There is a chance of rain and thunderstorms this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Storm chances will be greatest to the southeast of the Kansas City area, the weather service said.
In Wyandotte County, there is a 50 percent chance of rain and storms before 2 p.m. today, then a slight chance of showers between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., according to the weather service.
Behind the cold front could be gusty winds from about 3 p.m. to sunset, the weather service said.
Saturday morning, a rain-snow mix is possible to the north of the Kansas City area, north of St. Joseph, Missouri.
Today, there is a 50 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms before 2 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 64. A southeast wind of 5 to 10 mph will become north northwest 12 to 17 mph in the afternoon. Winds may gust as high as 33 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of new precipitation is expected.
Tonight, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 36 and a north wind of 6 to 14 mph, gusting as high as 24 mph, according to the weather service.
Friday, there will be a 20 percent chance of rain after 4 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 50 with an east wind of 5 to 7 mph.
Friday night, there is a 100 percent chance of precipitation, according to the weather service. There will be rain, mainly after 7 p.m. The low will be around 35 with an east wind of 6 to 10 mph, gusting as high as 21 mph. From a quarter to a half-inch of rain is possible.
Saturday, there is a 70 percent chance of rain, mainly before 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 41 with an east wind of 11 mph, gusting as high as 23 mph. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.
Saturday night, it will be cloudy with a low of 34, according to the weather service.
Sunday, it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 46, the weather service said.
Sunday night, there is a 30 percent chance of rain after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be near 37.
Monday, there is a 60 percent chance of rain, mainly before 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 51.
Monday night, there is a 60 percent chance of rain, with a low of 41, according to the weather service.
Tuesday, there is a 40 percent chance of rain, with a high near 55, the weather service said.
Tuesday night, there is a 60 percent chance of rain, with a low of 42, according to the weather service.
