At the end of a Central Avenue beautification project today, members of the National Guard raised the flag at Lally Park, 10th and Central, Kansas City, Kan. The Central Avenue Betterment Association, with the Hispanic Chamber of Greater Kansas City, the Unified Government Parks and Recreation, and the U.S. Army, worked on the project. The goals of the project were to beautify Central Avenue from 5th to 18th Street and enhance Bethany Park, Simpson, Lally and Trolley Park, plant roses, and repair all hazardous openings in the parks.
