Thursday’s weather is cool, with rain possible

Today’s forecast is another cool day with a 20 percent chance of showers, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight, the low will be around 39.

Friday, the forecast is sunny, with a high near 67. It will be windy, 6 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Friday night, the low will be 48.

On Saturday, look for mostly sunny skies and a high near 75.

Sunday’s forecast is sunny and a high near 79. Temperatures may climb to 82 on Monday and remain in the 80s Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the weather service.

Area students honored at business awards celebration

Two students from Wyandotte County were honored recently at the School of Business awards celebration at Emporia State University.

The students from this area and their honors:
•    Bruce VanCleave of Edwardsville, Kan., was named a senior honor student and a distinguished business scholar.
•    Jinhyuk Yang of Kansas City, Kan., was named a senior honor student.

Student who were honored had a 3.5 or better cumulative grade point average.

Cool weather continues today

Wednesday’s weather includes a chance of showers, mainly between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The cool weather continues today, with a high of 53. The temperature at 8 a.m. was 44 degrees.  A west northwest wind will be 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Tonight, there is a slight chance of showers before 7 p.m. The low will be 39. A west wind will be 8 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Thursday’s forecast is mostly cloudy with a high of 55. Windy weather continues with 10 to 15 mph, and gusts as high as 23 mph.

Friday’s forecast is mostly sunny with a high near 67. The wind will be 7 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 20.

Saturday’s forecast is mostly sunny and a high near 72. Sunday, it will be sunny with a high near 75. Temperatures may climb to 79 on Monday and 81 on Tuesday.
