Temperatures may reach 92 today

Today’s forecast is mostly sunny, with a high of 92. The heat index may reach 95 today, according to the National Weather Service.

The best chance for storms will come Wednesday evening through Thursday morning along a cold front that will drop southeast across the region, the weather service said.

A few storms could become strong to severe on Wednesday evening along and north of I-70, but widespread severe weather is not expected. The main threats of the storm are damaging winds, heavy rain and small hail.

Scattered thunderstorm chances will continue into the weekend, but no additional strong and severe storms are anticipated, the weather service said. Rain is a possibility every day, according to the forecast.

Temperatures may reach 90s today

Monday’s weather will be hot, with a high near 91, according to the National Weather Service.

There also is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Humidity was a high 71 percent at 8 a.m., with a temperature of 73, the weather service said.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny with a high near 92.

On Wednesday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The high will be near 90. Winds will be 10 to 16 mph with gusts as high as 23 mph.

The chance of thunderstorms increases to 70 percent on Wednesday night.

Rain is also is possible for Thursday and Friday, according to the forecast.

Mild weather continues today

Today’s weather continues to be milder than usual for this time of year.

The high will be 81 degrees and the skies will be partly sunny today, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a line of clouds to the southwest of the Kansas City area, from Manhattan, Kan., to Joplin, Mo., but the Kansas City area forecast does not contain rain at this time.

The temperatures will continue to be mild on Thursday, with a high of 82.

Friday’s weather will be 84 degrees and mostly sunny; Saturday, the same as Friday; and Sunday, 86 and sunny.

On Monday, temperatures will rise to 88 degrees, with mostly sunny skies.
