Temperatures to rise to mid-70s today

Temperatures will rise to the mid-70s today in Wyandotte County, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

A warming trend will continue through the week, with the next chance for rain coming late Friday night into Saturday, the weather service said.

There will be elevated fire weather concerns this afternoon because of dry surface conditions and stronger westerly wind gusts as high as 22 mph, according to the weather service.

From Sunday into Monday, frozen precipitation will be possible as temperatures drop, forecasters said.

Today, it will be sunny, with a high near 74 and a southwest wind of 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon, the weather service said. Winds may gust as high as 22 mph.

Tonight, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 43 and a light and variable wind, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, it will be sunny, with a high near 80, the weather service said. A southwest wind of 5 to 14 mph will gust as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 39, according to the weather service. A west southwest wind of 5 to 9 mph will become east northeast after midnight, and winds may gust as high as 18 mph.

Thursday, it will be sunny, with a high near 58, the weather service said. An east wind of 9 to 11 mph will gust as high as 20 mph.

Friday, it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 69, the weather service said.
