Baseball fans may want to take note of strong winds possible today.

Tonight’s forecast calls for a low of 43 degrees, with north northwest winds 9 to 16 mph, and gusts as high as 23 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

During the day Tuesday, after a slight chance of rain in the morning, skies will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny with a high near 62 today, according to the weather service.

Winds during the daytime will be north northwest from 21 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. There is a 20 percent chance of rain.

Rain will slowly track east of the region today, with the strong winds behind the departing storm system, National Weather Service forecasters said.

Dry and fair weather is expected to return Wednesday as high pressure builds into the area.

Temperatures will be 63 on Wednesday, and the low will be 45 on Wednesday night. Thursday, skies will be sunny with a high near 70, and Thursday night, the low will be 49. Friday, expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 68.

Rain was not invited to the Columbus Day federal holiday today, but it showed up anyway.

Today’s forecast from the National Weather Service calls for rain, possibly a thunderstorm, and a high near 58.

Tuesday’s forecast includes a chance of rain before 1 p.m. It will be partly sunny with a high near 61. Winds will be north northwest from 18 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph.

Tuesday night, skies will be mostly clear, with a low around 45. North northwest winds will be 8 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Wednesday, skies will be sunny, with a high near 63. Wednesday night, skies will be mostly clear, with a low around 46.

Thursday, look for sunny skies and a high of 69.

A 50 percent chance of rain is in Friday’s forecast, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight, there will be a 20 percent chance of showers.

Today’s high will be 54 degrees.

Saturday’s weather will be partly sunny with a high of 60.

Sunday, there will be a 30 percent chance of showers, and Sunday night, 80 percent.

On Monday, Columbus Day, showers are likely, with a 60 percent chance of rain. Tuesday, skies will be sunny with a high of 64.
