Chill out today as temperatures fall 30 degrees

A 30-point drop in the temperatures is the difference between Wednesday’s weather and Thursday’s weather in Kansas City, Kan.

A storm system is expected to move into the area this weekend, the weather service said.

Precipitation is expected to begin as rain on Saturday before changing to snow on Saturday night and continuing into Sunday, according to the weather service. Light accumulations appear possible at this time across the outlook area, the weather service said.

Roller-coaster weather week hits top temperature today

Saturday, there is a 50 percent chance of rain and snow, and the high will be near 40, the weather service said.

A 40 percent chance of snow continues Saturday night, when the low will be around 25, according to the weather service.
