Showers, storms in today’s forecast

A 50 percent chance of scattered showers and storms is in Thursday’s forecast from the National Weather Service.

Highs will be in the low 60s on Thursday, with Friday seeing a high near 77, the weather service said.

The weather will look like summer days again starting Saturday, when temperatures reach 85, and Monday, Memorial Day, when the high will be near 90, according to the forecast. The hot, breezy and rain-free weather will continue until Tuesday night, when there is another chance of rain.

Today, there is a 50 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms. Rain is possible before 1 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., then a slight chance of showers after 4 p.m. The high will be near 62, the weather service said. A light north northwest wind will increase to 8 to 13 mph in the morning. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.

Tonight, it will be cloudy during the early evening, then gradually clearing, with a low of 50, according to the weather service. There will be a northwest wind of 7 to 13 mph.

Friday, it will be sunny, with a high near 77, and a north northwest wind of 6 to 8 mph, the weather service said.

Friday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 58, and a calm wind becoming south southeast around 6 mph after midnight, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 85 and a south wind of 7 to 16 mph, gusting as high as 26 mph, the weather service said.

Saturday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 70, according to the weather service.

Sunday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 89, and breezy, the weather service said.

Sunday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 74, according to the weather service.

On Monday, Memorial Day, it will be sunny, with a high near 90, and breezy, the weather service said.

Monday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 71, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, it will be sunny, with a high near 89, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, there is a 30 percent chance of showers, with a low of 68, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers, with a high near 84,the weather service said.

Rain, storms continue today

More showers and storms are expected in the late morning into the afternoon hours on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Isolated strong storms may be possible this afternoon across the region, the weather service said.

Rain chances may linger through Thursday, according to the weather service, with an additional half-inch to inch of rain in the forecast.

Cooler temperatures will prevail through Thursday, the weather service said, with today’s high near 67 and Thursday’s high near 63.

High temperatures will return to the area over the weekend, according to the weather service, with a high near 83 on Saturday and a high near 88 on Sunday and Monday, Memorial Day.

Today, there is an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 11 a.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 67 with an east northwest wind of 5 to 10 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Winds may gust as high as 20 mph. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.

Tonight, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 52 with a south southwest wind of 5 to 8 mph becoming north after midnight. Winds may gust up to 18 mph. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.

Thursday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 a.m., then a chance of showers between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 63 with a  light north northwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Winds may gust up to 22 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.

Thursday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 49, according to the weather service. A northwest wind of 5 to 9 mph will gust as high as 21 mph.

Friday, it will be sunny, with a high near 77 and a northwest wind of 3 to 6 mph, the weather service said.

More rain is in today’s forecast, with 1 to 2 inches of rain possible during Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain will continue in the forecast through Thursday, the weather service said. Minor flooding is possible with the rain.

Temperatures will be cooler, with a high of 62 on Tuesday and 67 on Wednesday, according to the weather service. The low will be around 60 tonight.

High temperatures will return to the 80s by this weekend, with dry conditions expected Saturday and Sunday, the weather service said.

Today, there is an 80 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm, with a high near 62, the weather service said. An east wind of 8 to 14 mph will gust as high as 26 mph. Between a half and three-quarters of an inch of rain are possible.

Tonight, there is a 90 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 60, with an east wind of 5 to 10 mph, gusting up to 24 mph. Between three-quarters and 1 inch of rain are possible.
