Wyandotte County is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 11:15 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
High winds and hail are the main hazards of this storm.
Also under the severe thunderstorm warning are Johnson and Leavenworth counties in Kansas. Several Missouri counties also are under the severe thunderstorm warning.
Kansas City, Kansas, and Kansas City, Missouri, are included in the warning.
Considerable tree damage is possible. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs and outbuildings, the weather service said.
Residents are advised to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of the building, the weather service said.

A heat advisory will be in effect from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Tonight, there is a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 72 with a west wind of 6 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.

Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing, and also, schedule frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a shaded or air-conditioned location. Call 911 if it is heat stroke.
